Hour of Code @ Guna

Hello everyone,
This blog post is about the recent event that JUET Firefox Club hosted, which was Hour of Code , Guna as to support Mozilla India and to teach and aware students of schools about mozilla and its tools.  Sajal Singhal along with Rahul Singh extended this great World wide campaign to out region Guna and this was my first time to support HOC and come up with such technical event which focused Students primarily.
All over it was fun and great experience to organize two day event at four different venues
1.Delhi Public School
2.Hindu Path School
3.Kendriya Vidyalaya.
 In total we could achieve maximum head count of approx 150 students. The Enthusiasm with which each student participated and completed their activity made us to feel proud.

We had teach students about internet , html, mozilla, net neutrality  and some about coding which they will learn in their higher studies because they were not aware of coding and related practice. So we demonstrated a basic code and then we ask students to write some code using html as they all are students of class IX and X , they all had done an excellent job , even we give swags and chocolates for the students who have done exceptionally well at such small age. I also shared my experience as student ambassador and volunteer at Mozilla. All of them were highly encouraged and most of them want to join our club  but they all are below 18 so unfortunately we can't do so.

Firefox is now available in hindi!
As i read this script on my screen i took a deep breath.. What the hell was firefox thinking when they took this step..i mean this is the most historic step for me as far as Firefox is considered, not only this meant more number of downloads but also a great way to connect more
people to the web something that has been the motive of Mozilla since the very beginning. So as we got the confirmation that we had a campaign
for firefox Hindi download i took this vision to my college and proposed to authorities that we can
conduct a small session telling students the
reason for this step, its uses and how this is the
product that has the potential to become a
household name in India.
Firstly my team went to different classes and we had great energy, the queries were yhe most amazing part of this introduction session and then we headed to labs where managed to get 35-50 downloads we could get more but due to less number of
attendies we were restricted to this.

Amazing how the download was localized into something that is most spoken language in India.

The event proceeds ... With more and more
people indulging
Explaining people before and during download that how Mozilla Firefox Hindi is the best localized browser available on teh internet today.
We had a great team who actively participated in
this campaign .
Also later on we had swag distribution .
Overall it's been a great event the response was
brilliant and we hope to bring such innovations to
the general public!

Startup Camp

Startup Camp

To start a mozillan group in our college we have opened a JUET FIREFOX COMMUNITY to promote Mozilla products  .

We introduced an event “Startup Camp” which was our first event to promote Mozilla in our college and make students aware of Mozilla and its working . 

Startup Camp was an event to make students aware of Mozilla products like Webmaker ,  Thimble , Popcorn , Xray goggle .

It was an introductory event to make students aware of web designing  , web applications . To make students aware of web applications I being an “Firefox Student Ambassdor” along with my fellow FSA’s took workshop on HTML 5 , CSS 3 , Javascript.

Students were also given a brief introduction of  FIREFOX OS and its working  . 

Massive participation was noticed in the open workshop from 1^st , 2^nd and 3^rd year students with 120 + students in the workshop.

Students were keenly interested to grab the knowledge about various products from MOZILLA and got the information about career options in Mozilla .

We received a very positive feedback from students regarding the workshop and the information provided to them about mozilla . 

We being the FSA are really happy to start the Mozilla group in our college and promote Mozilla worldwide.
